A brand first
Orbit Collective started as a streetwear brand. A 2017 vision became a Canadian storefront in 2021, with its own drops, its own photo shoots, and its own following.
That history is the point. After seven years on the brand side, Joey and Zach turned Orbit into the factory they always wished they had: honest about what it can and can’t make, direct in communication, and holding the same quality bar they held for their own label.
The founders
Joey Smolack, co-founder, production and factory network. Joey leads Orbit’s production operations and works closely with clients throughout the manufacturing process. With a background from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, he oversees sourcing, factory relationships, and quality control. He has travelled internationally to tour manufacturing facilities and build relationships across Orbit’s production network, bringing a hands-on understanding of apparel manufacturing to every project.
Zach Hiebert, co-founder, brand and clients. Zach started Orbit as a Canadian streetwear brand and helped build its identity, storefront, and following. Today, he leads brand strategy and client relationships, working closely with clients to bring their ideas to life from concept through production.
The spec sheet
Production options: choose from our customizable wholesale garments, create a fully custom garment from scratch, or work with us to develop a complete production package for your brand.
Weight range: fabric weights ranging from lightweight and midweight essentials to heavyweight garments, depending on the product and your project requirements.
Fabrics: a wide range of fabrics and materials selected based on the look, feel, performance, and requirements of each project.
Sourcing and production: a global manufacturing network with established factory and supplier relationships, allowing us to match each project with the right production capabilities.
Customization: screen printing, embroidery, DTG, sublimation, custom labels, hangtags, packaging, and other finishing options available depending on your project.
Packaging: garments arrive individually folded and packaged, ready for distribution or sale.
Minimums: minimums typically start at 50 pieces per style, depending on the garment, customization, and production requirements.
Timeline: sampling and production timelines vary by project. We’ll provide an estimated timeline before production begins based on your garment, customization, quantity, and shipping requirements.
Production details: key garment and production details are organized through Silhouet, keeping project information clear and accessible throughout the production process.
Project support: we’re here to help throughout the entire process, from choosing the right garments and fabrics to reviewing your project details and coordinating production.
How a drop flows
The partnership is built into the product. Every step below happens inside Silhouet, in one thread your whole team can see.
Build the tech pack. Draft it with AI from a sketch, a Shopify product, or notes. Measurements, materials, and artwork live in one structured record, not six attachments.
Pass the factory-readiness check. Before anything reaches Orbit, the tech pack is vetted for contradictions, missing specs, and anything that can’t actually be manufactured.
Sample in one channel. Quotes, comments, and sample photos arrive in the same thread as the tech pack. Built-in translation keeps every party reading the same spec.
Go to production. Approve the sample and the production order runs on the same live record. Every change is tracked; nothing forks into email.
